Nursing Unit Manager (NUM), Thompson House

Permanent Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight

Castlemaine Health is inviting applications from experienced Nurse Unit Mangers to join the Thompson House team on a permanent basis.

The successful applicant will have a demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and be committed to providing high quality nursing services. Importantly, in this leadership role the NUM will at all times model best practice and will foster positive relationships with staff, residents and the community.

The NUM position creates opportunities to gain experience to lead and manage staff of the Thompson Unit within a supportive environment.

 Key Selection Criteria: 

  • Extensive experience in area of clinical practice
  • Experience or willingness to gain experience in frontline management
  • Advanced assessment, care planning, care delivery and evaluation skills
  • Understanding of the concept of person centered care
  • Advanced level of communication skills
  • Ability to teach, coach and mentor staff and students
  • Commitment to collaborative practice and productive working relationships
  • Ability to reflect on own practice
  • Evidence of ongoing Clinical Practice Development

Knowledge of Montessori for dementia framework and ACFI is highly regarded.
