About Us

Medical, Surgical, Midwifery, Rehabilitation, Hostel, Nursing Home, Allied Health and a range of Outreach Services are provided to a population of 17,000 in the Shire of Mount Alexander. Assessment and Rehabilitation services are also provided to the neighbouring Shires of Central Goldfields and Macedon Ranges, reaching a combined population of over 60,000. Castlemaine Health is accredited with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and the Commonwealth Aged Care Residential Standards Agency.

Castlemaine Health Community Consultation Committee (CCC) Castlemaine Health recognises the importance of formal consumer and carer involvement in the health service through its Community Consultation Committee, which consists of senior health staff and 10 members who broadly represent the community and groups in Mount Alexander Shire. The Committee meets bimonthly and has two roles:

1. to provide direction and leadership in relation to the integration of consumer, carer and community views into all levels of health service operations, planning and policy development

2. to advocate to the board on behalf of the community, consumers and carers.
