Planned activity groups
The Alex Club
The Alex Club operates three days a week. It enables older people to enjoy company, physical activity, interest based activities, a ‘home-cooked’ meal and regular outings. Trained support staff and volunteers are present. Activities are planned with members. The service aims to assist each person to remain active and connected to the community.
Monday Bowls
Join the Wayward Bowlers for carpet bowls at Wesley Hill Hall. Keep active and enjoy company followed by a light lunch.
Active Tuesdays: Active Choices
This is a planned outing group which operates on a booking system. It is especially designed for physically independent older people who enjoy getting out and about.
The Out & Out Club
Unique in this region: an evening activity and social club for young adults with disabilities. The Club is based at Harcourt Leisure Centre. Groups are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Activities include table tennis, music, dance, craft, bowls, outings and more outings! Twice a month is the popular Girls’ night and Guys’ night. A meal is provided. Some overnight holidays and special events are planned.
Friday Explorers
Friday Explorers is a new group that runs every Friday. Each week the group travels to a new location. They share new experiences together as they explore our region. This is a great opportunity for friendship, togetherness and for building connections with peers and the community. To be eligible, you must be aged 65+ or 50+ if Aboriginal or/and Torres Strait Islander. Referrals can be made through My Aged Care.
Friends on Friday
Friends on Friday is based at Harcourt Leisure Centre. It brings a group together each week to form friendships in a supported environment. The group takes part in planned activities such as craft workshops, listening to guest speakers, and challenging each other to word games and quizzes. Group members plan their own activities, so they regularly bring ideas and suggestions to develop their own tailored program. This group is suitable for people who would like a little quieter, less physically active day. To be eligible, you must be aged 65+ or 50+ if Aboriginal or/and Torres Strait Islander. Referrals can be made through My Aged Care.
Transport
Limited transport to groups can be organised or provided according to need.
