With around 660 employees, Castlemaine Health provides an extensive range of health services to the community of Castlemaine and the surrounding region. Career development is important to everyone. At Castlemaine Health, our Human Resources & Education and Development staff help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and trainees manage their career progression and identify opportunities to develop skills through training and study.
Castlemaine Health offers a range of on-site accommodation for both staff and students completing hospital placements. Temporary accommodation is available in both housing accommodation and residential units all fully furnished to meet the needs of your stay with us.
The Cafeteria is open for all staff and visitors between the hours of 8:00am and 3:30pm, Monday to Friday and has an extensive range of hot and cold food. Vending machines with healthy snacks and tea and coffee making facilities are available for staff and visitors after hours.
Education and Training
Castlemaine Health is committed to providing ongoing education and training opportunities for all staff to assist in the provision of high quality patient and resident care. Training exists in a variety of formats including workshops, seminars, CD Rom, computer assisted learning and Internet based training activities are undertaken in a variety of settings either internally or at external locations. All staff are encouraged to participate in activities that will further their development.

Health and Wellbeing
Castlemaine Health values the health and well-being of all their staff and their families and are keen to provide assistance to any staff experiencing problems at work or at home. Castlemaine Health has a NO LIFT Manual Handling Policy in place. Policies and standard operating procedures have been developed to assist and protect staff against injuries. All staff undergo ongoing education and training in appropriate use of lifting equipment.

Castlemaine Health ensures the health and safety of all employees, residents and visitors is maintained by providing ongoing safety awareness programs and fire emergency procedures sessions to ensure that Castlemaine Health remains a safe place to work and to live.

Staff Health Club
The Staff Health Club is located on-site and is available to all staff at a heavily discounted price. Staff may have up to two additional associate members which can be given to family/partners/friends. The facility has a range of cardio, weights and boxing equipment, with every new member undertaking a fitness assessment and developing a personalised training program prepared by the Health Clubs Fitness Instructor.
